Description

Alright, another practice piece to hone my skills. This time some experimentation with lightning and light effects. I continued practicing on doing shading using free hand techniques as opposed to point-to-point lines. I am really happy about how the poses worked out. And I was finally able to nail the main characters eyes perfectly in the final frame. I am going to keep using those eyes as references for future pieces.

This test comic page takes place after the "Leap of Fate... In jet engines!" [link]
After a huge fight on board an airship, Colt and Samantha manages to "escape" relatively unharmed. Thinking they have defeated the enemies, only to find there is one more left to defeat *typical-old-school-cliche twist... but you gotta love old school*. Colt quickly draws his .500 Smith & Wesson Magnum, and attempts to blow a few extra breathing holes into his monstrous opponent. Unfortunately, she is faster then he anticipated and misses.
Yes I know, the enemy is a Gargoyle with the design based on Disney's Gargoyles tv series. Specifically modelled after one of the shows frequently returning nemesi. I saw the show back in the day... never really watched it frequently. But they would make an interesting enemy to fight; Very strong, capable of flight and great speed.
It really is a good thing I gave Colt the most powerful handgun in the world to fight her with.

Next up is another piece from the same storyline... taking place in the castle you see in the very distant background of frame 1 in this picture.
